Megan Lopez, M.Ed. is currently a Secondary ELA Assessment Specialist and WIDA Assessment Specialist with the Utah State Board of Education. In her five years at the USBE, Megan has supported educators and administrators across the state support student outcomes. In addition, she co-manages the Assessment to Achievement and Assessment to Achievement Plus projects, focused on building a collaborative culture of data-use and evidence-based instructional teaching strategies in schools. Prior to her work at the USBE, Megan attended the University of Utah and Southern Utah University for her M.Ed. with an emphasis in ESL. She taught 7th-11th grade secondary ELA for 13 years along the Wasatch Front, and specialized in reading interventions and disabilities. Megan is married with two adorable children—5 and 3 years old—who keep her on her toes.
