Hi! As a Special Education teacher, I am passionate about the advancements that the world of education is making towards a functional system that encompasses all neurodiverse learners in the classroom. My career focus has been establishing a balance between appropriate accommodations, modification, and progress tracking to show a true reflection for student progress and growth in the general education setting. My goal as an educator is to promote visible, tangible, and meaningful growth for all students and empower them throughout their academic careers. I am excited to share with you the balance between Proficiency Based Learning and its involvement with students with IEP’s. I have spent most of my career teaching and learning in rural Wyoming and am excited to continue my teaching adventure in Kamas, Utah serving as the Special Education teacher for South Summit. I currently serve as the 5th and 8th grade resource teacher as well as the teacher for students with severe needs. My life outside of the classroom revolves around 3 dogs, 2 kids, 1 husband, and a whole lot of time spent in the mountains.
